The Medlands Beach to Achorage Bay hike is part of the Abel Tasman Coastal Track, which in it self is one of the “Nine Great Walks’ of New Zealand. Which is situated in the north of the South Island, west of Nelson
This part of the Abel Tasman Coastal Track is 11km (7miles) long and goes past quite a few beaches with golden sand and blue sea. The track is easy on the legs and wonders through coastal forest with lush ferns and trees. Along the way there are many lookout points, from where you have amazing views over the bays and beaches.
To get to the start of the walk you need to take a water taxi, which starts from Kaiterteri/Marahau.
